Kaufman Products and Precision Remanufacturing have been working together for over 15 years in the development of specialized tooling, manufacturing procedures, testing, and up to date cataloging for rack and pinions. To help the start-up rack and pinion rebuilder, we have packaged all this information and knowledge into a comprehensive 6 day hands on training program. Along with the tooling, testers, and parts that we offer, the following is a list of services that we offer to customers who purchase our training program. After we receive your initial deposit for the training, we will send you a packet of information. In this packet will be the following:
A list of all vendors that you need to contact, set up credit with, and buy your parts from. We will give you a recommended opening order for each of these vendors.
A list of the cores you will need to have on hand. Any cores you can not get, we will be able to sell you at fair market core price. We will further check the core prior to shipping, to insure you that it is a rebuildable core.
A picture ID guide of both domestic and import racks so you can identify the cores as you buy them.
A list of hand tools you will need to rebuild racks.
A print of a typical shop layout for rebuilding racks.
Our current rack and pinion catalog and price sheet which can be duplicated. (If you elect to copy our catalog, you will also be linked to TRIADs Lazercat)
At a mutually agreeable time, Jerry Mudryj from Precision Remanufacturing and I will come to your plant for six days and train you to rebuild both domestic and import racks. We will work one on one with at most two of your employees, training them to tear down, build, and test racks. During this time, they will rebuild approximately 25 units. We prefer to do the training in your plant so Jerry gives you his undivided attention and an uninterrupted training program. At the same time, Jerry and I can make certain that you have all necessary tools and equipment to rebuild rack and pinions in your shop and make any suggestions that can help you to be more efficient. Many times, a rebuilder will custom make a tool for a particular operation using a hand tool like a screwdriver. While Jerry is training you he will show you how to make these tools. When we finish training you in your shop, everything we used to build racks is in your shop, and you can continue building racks the next day. Also, while Jerry is training your people, I will spend the first day or two with you or other people discussing all the other aspects of the rack and pinion market from buying cores to customer service. As a follow up to this training, we further support you with free tech service. If you have questions about building a rack, or a customer problem, we are only a phone call away. However, even after you have considered all the benefits of having us train you at your location, if you still prefer to have one or two of your employees come here to Chicago and be trained in our shop, this is also an option. Since the cost of this training does not include our expenses, the costs are the same either way.
To stay abreast of the rack and pinion market, we also rebuild rack and pinions for local distribution in Chicago under the name Precision Remanufacturing, Inc. We have sourced out all the parts to rebuild over 700 rack and pinions, even the hard-to-get import racks through 1999. We make these parts available to you for as much as half the cost of buying them from typical sources. As our customer, you will be kept informed of new items or parts as they become available and of new rack and pinion applications added to our catalog.
Understand this is very comprehensive training. You are not expected to remember everything we teach you in the six days we are there. Even if we trained you for two weeks or a month, you will never retain everything we teach you. What we are really trying to do in these six days is get you comfortable with all aspects of teardown, cleaning, prep, repair, assembly, and testing. Then over the next several months, forever actually, we make ourselves available to you over the phone for free consultation. Your employees we have trained will know all the parts of the rack and pinion and how they work so that Jerry or I will be able to talk them through any problem over the phone. What we have seen with the over 50 companies we have set up and trained is that each month the calls will get less and less frequent until finally, we end up helping each other with new racks that come along each year. Precision and Kaufman have developed over the years, a very close relationship with many rebuilders. To this end, it becomes very helpful for all involved. Give me a call today and join the team of successful rack and pinion rebuilders.
